Warning! Strong Wind Area...

They weren't joking! As we drove on I-10 from Palm Springs towards San Bernardino, we experienced some crazy winds. Some of it was generated naturally but we also think that the huge wind turbine garden may have had something to do with it. WOW!

And believe us, the buck didn't stop there. On Hwy. 58, heading west, going through the Mojave desert and into the town of Mojave, we experienced gusts up around 70mpg. Intense!

Needless to say, our horses and doggy were happy to be through all of that. I think that Garrett finally started to breath normally and his knuckles began to show color again by the time we were just east of Bakersfield. It was a stressful day of driving. :-)

After a few pit stops we finally got into Bakersfield to the Sioux City Ranch by 7pm. We were greeted by the owners son, a long haired little cowboy on a 4-wheeler. Loved him!

We settled the animals in and made a few salads before climbing into bed by 830pm.

However, at about 3:44 this am I was up and Garrett followed about 10 minutes later. We wanted to get up and out of SO CAL before everyone else was rushing to work. We are making great time and are actually only about 125 miles from Sacramento and might try to get up to Ashland for the night. We have lots of family there and we found a few horse hotels and also the Jackson County fairgrounds is in Central Point. Good Stuff!

OK! So before I sign off, I have to share the big news! It looks like Garrett's wish has come true and we are moving to Ennis, MT. Our interview in San Bernardino was perfect and we are heading out to our new pad :-) around the end of March. The time line can't be beat. We will have a few weeks in OR to make the rounds and take care of business before we commit to a 6 month contract out there. In my next blog I will get into more detail about our position and the properties. Let me just say that we have found ourselves a great fit.

Until I blog again....

Love and joy~~HB&GG
