I am serious, I feel an incredible feeling of renewal in my life and within myself. It may have something to do with the fact that Garrett and I are starting to look at the next leg of our glorious adventure. I think that I can speak for both of us, or at least I will speak for both of us,(just like a wife) when I say that we are really starting to feel the flow of this expansive lifestyle.
I want to take a quick moment to elaborate on this thought... I guess a lot of it comes down to the fact that I am having more faith that our path truly is mapped out and that we just have to act on inspiration when the feeling arises. We just need to follow the urge to send out the resume, or make the phone call, or send the email. There is really no rush about any of this because things, all things, are being set up for us and are ready on the receiving end when, and only when, the time is right. :-) OK, enough philosophy this morning.:-)
We did send out about five inquiries/resumes for situations in central WA, eastern OR, and 3 in MT. One of the places in MT looks incredible. It is called the Sun Ranch, just outside of Ennis, MT. This particular area is one of Garrett's all-time favorites from our road trip/first date about 2 and 1/2 years ago. It is in Madison Valley, near Cameron and West Yellowstone. It is a 26,000 acre eco-ranch that has a luxury lodge, cattle operation, horses, and recreational activities. Incredible! We are pulling for that one! We are not sure if they even have any positions open but they did say to send in our resumes???:-)
Besides that, we are tying up loose ends down here, finishing our taxes, getting ready for Terry to visit(Garrett's Mom), and enjoying our time here. Things are fine in our jobs and we are just relishing our time off together more and more. We are both anxious to get out on a ranch and in a more remote area. I know that all of this will happen soon enough. :-)
I was offered a position outside at the vineyard, like I mentioned. However, I have decided that because of our situation and our animals, that it would be best for our little family to leave things 'AS IS' for the remainder of our time here. That could be mid-March or sooner or later. Who knows, but I feel the next situation coming by the end of Feb. Garrett and I were joking that we would probably be heading out of here just after Terry flies home on the 2oth. Who knows? We are open, open, open, open!!!
I have added a few photos from Garrett's fishing trip over on the Gulf. He was just outside of Houston in a small town called ? They weren't able to get out on the water since the tide was extremely low, however, they did get a lot of fishing and crabbing in.
The photos on the right are of the jetty where they fished and the local bait shop/bar/store. Sweet huh? Garrett said that it was a real biker hang out! :-) Perfect! The photo at the top is of the homes that survived Ike. What you can't see is the other block of homes that was in front of these on the beach. They have put down a new flood line, which does not include that first row of homes still there. Nature really does get the last word, doesn't she. Incredible!
Well, I am going to get to making Garrett some yummy wheat and dairy free brownies and then to some laundry. Fun! After that, it is bike and horse back rides. More fun! Then tonight we are going to dinner over at Ari's. We are all bringing a favorite food of ours. I am making Beets. Love them. Garrett is doing yummy potatoes and red beer. Ari is picking up some fresh crab and Rick, her brother, is making Texas potato salad. Sounds like a feast! Sweet!
Lots of love to all of you and I know that the next time I do an update, you guys will get another hint on the stop of the H & G adventure. HB&GG

Hi Kids - Well, what did you think of your 1st viewing of The Amazing Race - does it look like something you would have fun doing?
We are so happy that you are having this great adventure! Wish I could have been so smart.
Hope you get here before we leave on our trip, but doubtful.
I plan to go to Charlie's shower - up and back that day - 3-14. Wish I could find someone to ride with me. OH WELL.
Amy got a job at a hospital in Tualitan (sp). Aunt Kathy got a new dog and named him Duke, how about that?
Glad you had at least one Oregonian visit you while in Texas. We look forward to seeing you and hope you get a positive response from The Amazing Race.
All for now - we love you guys, Grandma and Grandpa Bill.
