Hi Everyone! Yep, I know that it isn't the 21st quite yet but I had to get ya'll prepped for the fact the Garrett & I will be married for a year in less than 2 weeks! Can you believe it? I sure can't. ;-)
I had to share a few of our favorite photos but I have a few more that I will post. I also have a couple that have to do with us getting into the Christmas spirit this year but you will have to wait on those. :-) I am pretty sure that you have not seen anything like them before.
Well, first off I want to wish all of you a happy December and a Merry Holiday season. It is a little weird to be getting ready for Christmas when it is still green and was 70 deg. today. Although, there are a lot of little indicators that Christmas time is approaching. There are a plethora of Christmas lights up and the stores have been playing Christmas music since the day after Thanksgiving. The music thing always amazes me.
I love this time of the year, people seem more cheerful and folks are out with their families and friends. We had the Vineyard Christmas party last Wed. and Garrett has his today. Next Monday the gals at work are doing a cookie exchange and we have a few other dinner dates planned prior to Christmas.
Side note~ I have to tall you guys a bit about the gifts that we chose in the white elephant gift exchange last week. Garrett just had to choose the biggest box there which happened to contain 'Bofus' which is short for 'both of us'. (It is a long story) Anyways, it is a mounted whitetail spike deer head. Garrett and I have since donated it to the Hunters Cabin at the PHR. A perfect wall decorations for the youth of PHR to aspire to. :-)
The other totally great gift way a kids toy, which happened to be a security club. We had the great idea that we could sabotage the director at the PHR, Karl, by putting it on his Mule. No, not the kind of mules that breathe, the mechanical sort. :-)
I am not sure if it got there. It is the thought that counts right?
We do have plans to celebrate our 1 yr. of marriage. We are super excited to get the 21st off together and to get out of town for that Sat. evening and Sun. We also get the 24th-26th off. Exciting Right?
Activities for the 20th include a concert outside of San Antonio, Robert Earl Keen. The show is at Floores Dance hall and Grill. It is in an old historical site in Helotes. We are planning to get there around 7pm, watch the show at 9 and stay in the area that night. On Sun., "our day", we plan to get a great meal and tour around the Hill Country some more.
We want to go through Kerrville and see the place where Garrett's grandma Archien use to live. We have heard a lot of great things about the town and the area.
In other news, last night did drop into the 20's and we got the tail end of a 'Blue Northern', we think. Lots of wind and hail. We were also surprised to see that half the city of Killeen was out of power this morning while dropping Garrett at work. Crazy! Total blackout! (Not brownout, Uncle Kip) Garrett and I still laugh about that term and we will have you all know that we touched chopsticks before Thanksgiving dinner and said, "Good night", as much as possible. :-)
Alright, time to get off of here, just wanted to say hi and I will write again soon. I have lots planned today with work around the ranch and a horse lesson(in a sense) this afternoon. Garrett and I also have a dinner date tonight at April & JT's house. I work with April at the Vineyard and they are making pasta, which Garrett loves and has been craving lately.
Happy December and enjoy the Full Moon on the 12th. In love and joy~~~HB & GG
